The Land Of Giants

Making only minor alterations to well established steel-framed tower design, we have created a series of towers that are powerful, solemn and variable. These iconic pylon-figures will become monuments in the landscape. Seeing the pylon-figures will become an unforgettable experience, elevating the towers to something more than merely a functional design of necessity. Via choishine.com

In the world of iThings the latest addition is the long awaited iPad. Released today, the Apple iPad is designed to be used for email, web browsing, photos, video, music, games, iWork and eBooks. The iPad uses the iPhone OS 3.2, so it can also run most current iPhone apps. It features a 9.7-inch Multi-Touch screen, on screen keyboard, WiFi. Bluetooth 2.1, 16-64GBs of storage, and a 10 hours of battery life. The iPad is also available in a 3G version. Personally I think of this as a gigantic iPod Touch that can also be used as a digital photo frame. It doesn't fit everyone's lifestyle for that matter but it's really cool and "magical" like everything else Apple does. Watch the product video here.

Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto has always used his camera to explore unseen phenomena. His latest project, called Lightning Fields, the award-winning photographer traded optics for electricity. He wields a Van de Graaf generator to send up to 400,000 volts through film to a metal table. The resulting fractal branching, subtle feathering, and furry whorls call to mind vascular systems, geologic features, and trees. Although some of the effects happen by chance, the artist does try to exercise control. “I have a kitchen’s worth of utensils that produce sparks with different characteristics,” he says. “But there are many variables — weather, humidity, perhaps even what I had for breakfast — I’m never sure what influences the results.”

FLAIRS - TRUCKERS DELIGHT
"Truckers Delight animated video clip directed by newcomer wunderkid Jérémie Périn who takes the song's title (a tribute to those little pleasures that the lonely truck- driver indulges himself in) and takes it to the next level. The Qatar-Bahrain Friendship Causeway, a 40km long marine causeway featuring a 22km bridge and 18km embankments connecting the west coast of Qatar to the east coast of Bahrain, is scheduled to begin construction in 2010. The $3 billion project was originally scheduled to begin last year in May 2008, however in a statement from Bahrain's Works Minister Fahmi al-Jowder the new deadline was announced. "Work on the project will start in 2010 and it is expected to take four-and-a-half years to complete." When completed, the causeway will be the longest in the world and will also boast a 13 metre wide railroad bridge. Travel time from Qatar to Bahrain by car is expected to be reduced from four-and-a-half hours to around 30 minutes. Via menainfra.com

The Art Of Max Payne 3

The gameplay has obviously developed and Max Payne has matured into this steroid head outlaw looking charachter. As a big fan of the first 2 games I cant say I am overly excited for this as the third installment of the Max Payne game franchise but maybe as a new game on its own. The game looks like it has an entire new atomosphere and mood looking away from the gloomy, dark mysterious world that fans come to love in the first 2 games. We have to wait and see till the game is officially released in winter of 2009. Meanwhile enjoy the teaser and the officilally released art of the game via rockstargames.com
